Queen Bees of Zion Red Hat Society

Background

The Queen Bees of Zion, a Chapter of the National Red Hat Society was formed in March, 2004 with Noma Blanton and Oachi Galiger designated as our Queen Mothers.

The motto of the Red Hat Society is, “Fun and Friendship, Before and After Fifty”. There are no official rules, except in the matter of red hat attire. To be a Red Hatter, one should wear a red hat and a clashing purple ensemble at all meetings to keep up the spirit.

  • Under 50 should wear a pink hat and lavender attire until THE birthday. (50th!)

Overview

  • Ages 50+

  • Must be a ZB resident

  • Trips are usually the 2nd Thursday of the month

  • Schedules are made monthly

o   Ideas to go back to having the schedule made for the entire year

  • Trips usually includes:

o   Making memories

o   Lunch

o   Shopping

o   Ice Cream

  • Keeping seniors young

  • Enriches their lives

  • Keeping them relevant and connected to the community
