Emergency Assistance

Emergency Assistance (EA)

Zion Township’s EA program provides Zion residents up to $400 for Emergency Assistance to alleviate life threatening circumstances or for those unable to pay a work-related expense. EA can be received up to three times at least 18 months apart. (1st time: $400, 2nd time: $250, 3rd time: $150) In order to qualify for our EA program you must complete a confidential application and financial session.

Emergency Transportation (ETA)

Zion Township provides a one-time assistance, 24-hour Pace bus pass or gas voucher to any Zion resident. If you need to get somewhere but find yourself without transportation or money to help you get there, we may be able to help.

General Assistance (GA)

Unemployed and don’t qualify for any other government assistance programs? We may be able to help. Our General Assistance Case Managers provide Zion residents with no income and no means of an income support, connections to outside agencies and a $350 monthly stipend towards basic living expenses.

“This community needs more understanding people, like Zion Township’s staff, who know how to help felon's to better him or herself and rise to the top by looking forward.”
