Summer Work Program
| Zion Township provides an educational opportunity for youth aged 14 and 15 to learn what is requires to get and keep a job, in our six week “on the job training program.” Youth must live in the City of Zion. Application are available at Zion Township, Zion Park District, Zion-Benton Township Library, Zion Central Middle School, Beach Park Middle School and others starting April 1, 2011.
Currently, youth are required to complete an application including a letter of recommendation, go through an interview and are then held responsible to work for three hours, five days a week for six weeks, completing projects throughout the community or at an assigned work location in the community. The number of youth hired is based upon positions available in the community. Partners include Lake County Workforce Development Training Center, NorthPointe Resources, Sheridan Health and Rehab Center, Zion Park District, Zion Police Department, Zion Benton Township High School, Zion Elementary District, and Zion-Benton Public Library. New non-profit partners are always welcome! |
