Senior Transportation Programs 

1/2 Fare Taxi Tickets: Zion Seniors enjoy half price taxi fares for travel within our city limits 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You must be 65 or older and a resident of Zion to qualify. Program participants are entitled to receive 15 taxi tickets in a thirty-day period. Taxi services are provided through partnership with AST Taxi and USA Taxi companies. To participate in this program apply at the Township office.

Friday Grocery Shopping: Every Friday, the Zion Park District provides
curb-to-curb service to Zion seniors from their homes to the grocery store. Call the Park District at 847-746-5500 to schedule a pickup.

RTA Reduced Bus and Train Fare: The RTA recognizes Zion Township as a “Key Center”. As an authorized agent, the Township can assist with and accept applications from local seniors for a pass allowing seniors to purchase reduced fare bus and train passes. You must
be 65 years of age to qualify. No appointment necessary.

PACE Paratransit (Dial-A-Ride): Zion Township subsidizes this program for providing out-of-area service to seniors each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. PACE provides curb-to-curb service for limited destinations in both Gurnee and Waukegan. Please call the Dial-A-Ride dispatcher 24 hours in advance to schedule a ride. This service costs $1.60 roundtrip. The dispatcher’s number is 1-800-201-6446.

The PACE Paratransit also provides curb-to-curb service five days a week, except on holidays, for disabled members of our community for $5.00 roundtrip. In order to qualify, you must have an ADA certification number. To obtain a certification number, please contact the ADA Program hotline at 1-312-663-4357.
