Absentee Voting

Registered voters of Zion Township may vote by absentee ballot in person
at the office of the Town Clerk. Absentee voting is conducted from
the 22nd day prior to an election through the day before the election.
The Town Clerk verifies that the applicant is a registered
voter in Zion , as well as the precinct in which he or she is registered.

Only persons unable to be present at the polls on the day
of election may vote absentee, based on one of the following reasons:

•  The voter expects to be absent from Lake County .
•  The voter has been appointed as a judge of election in another precinct.
•  The voter is physically incapacitated.
•  The voter will be observing a religious holiday.
•  The voter will be serving election duties for Lake County or the State of Illinois .
•  The voter will be serving election duties for a law enforcement agency.
•  The voter is a student attending school outside of Lake County
•  The voter is serving on a sequestered jury
